A classic Thanksgiving dish with a twist: Roasted Yams w/ Smoked Paprika
This year is a very special Thanksgiving for us, we are having over 25+ US Military Service Members in our house who do not have a Family to spend it with. Thinking about my menu, I decided that instead of my usual red roasted potatoes, I was going to try something different for them,
“Roasted red yams with smoked paprika”
It is as delicious as it sounds!!
Here is the recipe:
makes approx. 6 servings
2 medium-large (approx. 3 pnds) red yams “Red Garnet,”
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons olive oil or canola oil
- Pre heat oven to 425 degrees
- line your baking sheets with silicone liner or parchment paper.
- Cut all the yams to approx. dice sized squares
- in a mixing bowl, toss yams, oil, and smoked paprika.
- spread the yams evenly on your baking sheets and bake for 10 mins.
- using a spatula, carefully flip your yams and bake for approx. 8-10 mins more (depending on your oven)
- Enjoy tender baked yams, while the outside is deliciously caramelized.
Serve as a side dish with your Thanksgiving dinner or any night of the week.
Your Family will thank you!
P.S. You can also add a little bit of rosemary for an even more intense flavor!
Do you have any special meals or dishes you love to create around special occasions?

I just want to say that I think you’re awesome. I’ve always wanted to have a house full of people who had no one to spend the holidays with and make them a meal. You rock!

Nice job! Can’t wait to try these for the holiday.

Great site. A lot of useful information here. I’m sending it to some friends!

The recipe sounds sabroso/delicious! I have to say I also admire what you are doing by hosting such a large gathering for people who may have felt alone on the holidays.
I hope you have a wonderful time!!
Btw, if I were closer, I would have helped wash dishes 😉
*Abrazos/Hugs*

I needed to cook this 20 extra minutes to get the desired texture in the yams. I set the timer for 10 extra minutes, stirred, and did another 10 minutes, then it was done. Otherwise, great simple recipe.

I did this recipe, but I added a little rosemary. delish!

I never thought it could be possible. I own about 7-9 hair straighteners from cheap to deluxe. Not one of them could
penetrate my thick, curly hair enough to do anything other than heat up the cuticle and make sizzling noises. This iron is going to change my life. I spent 700 on ionic straightening, and this iron works
better!!!! If you spend any amount of time wielding a heavy blow dryer, forget about it. I used this iron on Air-dried, curly hair. I wish I could upload a digital photo- I look like a hair commercial.
Unbelievable but true!!! I LOVE IT!!!

I have had such trouble finding a product for my wavy/curly hair. I have tried everything, and
while some products worked fine, Moroccan Oil is the best. It works in all climates, which is great for me since I travel a lot. I live mostly in a humid costal climate, and my hair doesn’t frizz ar fall
flat since I started using this product. I love it!

I
starting using this oil when I colored my hair at the recommendation of my hairdresser because my hair sometimes felt limp and lifeless. I still use it now that I’ve let my gray grow out. It makes my hair
feel and smell great. I found that I don’t have to wash my hair every day; I just spread some Curl Cream on my hands and scrunch it through my hair and it works out the “bedhead” look. I don’t have super
curly hair; in fact, when I wash it, it looks straight. My hairdress is the one who showed me, using the Curl Cream, that my hair is actually naturally curly..not just wavy. I love it and use it nearly every
day.

I have tried every product that is supposed to be great for curly hair. This Moroccan Oil hair line is the best I have ever tried. I have paid for inexpensive
products to very expensive products and this is the VERY BEST I have ever tried in my life, and I am in my 50’s. It makes my hair soft, shiny, bouncy, and easy to manage. My hair is shoulder length. No
frizzies or heavyness. I get so many compliments and people just wanting to touch my hair. I am okay with the fragrance.

My stylist recommended this product for my medium to long hair that tends to have some wave and frizz. I
have never had a flat iron, but I can successfully get the smooth, straight look I want in 7 minutes, and my hair is pretty thick. The iron heats up in one minute, and is easy to use because of its slim
design. I would recommend not starting at anything beyond the 35-40 setting to start with or you may really damage your hair. Other than that, this is a great purchase and I’m happy to have it!

I bought the product after my hairdresser used it on my hair once. It was great. The hair stays smooth and frizz-free until your next wash. Don’t have to worry about
doing it again the next day. Love it.

When I received this, the pump was broken which was unfortunate. However, I love this product for my extremely curly
hair. Don’t use too much or your hair looks greasy.

I have been searching for the perfect curl cream for most of my 33 year lifespan and I believe I
have found it in this product! I have a lot of fine naturally curly hair and this cream is great. Keep in mind, however, that a little goes a LONG way! For example, my hair is down past the middle of my back
and I use approximately 2 teaspoons. I apply it when my hair is wet, right out of the shower, and then just scrunch with a towel and that is all the product I need! It is a little costly, but this bottle
lasts me about 4 months.

I have natural ethnic hair (very curly and thick, but not course). I transitioned from braids to a natural style using Moroccan Oil Intense Curl Creme. I love this product. My hair
stays very hydrated, and I can create a variety of natural styles using the Intense Curl. I also take my product to my hair stylist. She also loves the product. There are no artificial chemicals, and is very
safe on natural hair.
